本剧讲述了山冈优子（石田光饰）和义正（甲本雅裕饰）结婚后生了两个孩子，成为了一家人。4个人长期生活在同一个屋檐下，孩子们都离巢了，虽然觉得“随时都可以4个人聚在一起”，但是一旦离开家就很难再回来。夫妻之间的对话越来越少，和孩子们的关系也越来越疏远。对分离的家人感到寂寞的某一天，优子参加了悬赏应征的“一家人一起去！两天一夜的会津之旅”。虽然有些犹豫，但还是联系了孩子们，没想到他们爽快地答应了。为了让“家族”重新来过，山冈家的“周末旅行”现在开始了。。The TARDIS lands in London on Christmas Eve, 1851 and almost immediately the Doctor hears his name being called.
