在不久的将来，地球变得荒凉和危险。一种神秘的生物占据了地球，人类不得不在天空方舟，一个空中的人造城市中避难。随着人口的增长，空间越来越少。只有富人和强者可以留在天空方舟，穷人和孤儿被放逐到地球。其中有一个叫做拉各斯的男孩，作为一个失势的前指挥官的儿子，他下决心拯救他的孤儿同伴和被流放者。为了重返天空方舟和把和平带回人间，他和他的朋友一起，不得不穿过旧地球的废墟，与一群群的外星怪物不断战斗。。Joe Bell is a penny-pinching hermit saving for the day when his real life will begin. One day he's offered a chest filled with treasure by a cryptic old man known as, "The Clockmaker." After giving the chest to Joe, the Clockmaker "accidentally" locks the chest.
