Against this backdrop, it tells the story...。本剧讲述大宋时期，一个女法医侦破十八年前灭门案的故事。女法医冷严夕应邀到师兄家做客，不料却看到师兄一家惨遭灭门，万幸的是她师兄的儿子张生逃过此劫，但张生却认为这一切都是冷严夕干的。张生接近冷严夕，拜入她门下，伺机为父母报仇。二十年的师徒关系，张生苦苦寻求下手机会却未果。张生和一个叫灵儿的姑娘情投意合，但灵儿的父亲好赌成性，便把她卖给了王老爷做丫鬟，王老爷见色起意，灵儿不甘被辱自杀而亡，得知此事的张生决定为她报仇，扮成丫鬟刺杀了王老爷后深夜逃回客栈，引起了店小二的怀疑，于是把店小二也给杀了，嫁祸于师傅冷严夕。冷严夕入狱，但没想到王老爷并没有死。张生决定再次暗杀，无意中听到王老爷讲述当年的灭门案，张生这才明白是自己错怪了师傅。。
