英国演员Peter Serafinowicz先前作为主演加盟Amazon的试映集《闪电超人 The Tick》。本剧根据Ben Edlund的漫画改编的、以全新演员阵容翻拍；Edlund曾在2001在Fox创作了同名真人版剧，同时也是1994年动画片的创作人，这一次他又将重新执笔，幷还将担任本剧的执行制片人。 新版将把这个肌肉发达的蓝色超级英雄（Serafinowicz饰）重新带回观众的视线。新版本中，闪电超人从失忆中恢复过来，他不想再与 Arthur（Griffin Newman饰）组队打击邪恶了。同时新版本中还将加入很多新的角色，其中还包括Arthur的妹妹Dot（Valorie Curry饰）。 Brendan Hines饰演的Superian，一个有些个人问题的超级英雄。奥斯卡提名者Jackie Earle Haley加盟Amazon试映集《...。Instead of chasing boys on the beach with her friends, recent college grad Dora finds herself caring for her reclusive Great Aunt in snowy upstate New York.
